In order to find the best image from our trailer and come up with an image to use for our brand identity, we sat down with the rest of our class to watch our trailer. Everyone drew what they thought was the most memorable image from the trailer and the one that stood out the most to them. The majority of the images drawn were of Georgia with her hand up facing the camera like she does several times in the trailer when she is being possessed by the poltergeist to shut doors etc. This gave us inspiration to use Georgia as the main person and image for our brand and with the use of Photoshop we will plan to edit parts of Georgia, such as her eyes to make them look possessed and her hand to make it looked cracked and dirty. This will create a broken and disturbing effect and immediately draw in the audience's attention to Georgia's hand being controlled by the poltergeist and her face.
These images of other horror movies' posters below are examples of iconic imagery films have used from their trailer and film to feature on their poster and be used as the brand's identity. It has became the well known and memorable image of the movie and how the film is recognised by horror fans and its audiences. A few of the posters we have researched feature close ups on eyes or have eyes in the image, which are edited to grab the audiences' attention and draw them into the eyes. For example, The Silence of The Lambs has a face with the eyes made red to suggest death and blood, the film, The Eye, has a close up shot of a very scared and panicked looking eye with a hand coming out of it. This makes it look very creepy and disturbing and immediately gives the audience an idea of what the film will be like and sticks in their mind. Again using eyes for their iconic image, The Blair Witch Project has a close up of a face in the woods and their eyes are highlighted through the use of the torch. This illuminates the fear in the person's eyes and portrays someone alone and vulnerable. The effectiveness and impact these simple images of eyes and faces have for horror posters is what makes us want to use this idea for our own poster. This is especially fitting as we have several close up shots of eyes in our trailer and the poltergeist sub-genre means the girl is being possessed and controlled by a poltergeist, so the the use of possessed and disturbed eyes would be very suitable and effective for our poster. it would the perfect iconic image for our film and it will stick in the audience's mind and be the image they remember from the film. It will also give our trailer an interesting and intriguing edge because of the editing tools we will use on Georgia's face and eyes to make her look possessed and unusual, making it stand out and an eye-catching poster that cannot be ignored.

We will use Photoshop to edit Georgia's eyes, possibly making them all white or black, which will make them look extremely different and disturbed and we will also edit other parts of the image such as the face and hand to make them look again unusual and ghoulish. We will also add effects and edit around the face and image to incorporate different elements of what makes a poltergeist and paranormal image and film. This will all add to making her look scary and possessed and making the film look extremely gripping and petrifying. A range of colour and editing techniques will make our poster as professional and impactful as possible.
