When creating a trailer, it is important to have an initial idea of what you are doing to ensure that you do not go totally off track. we as a group sat down and had a meeting in which we discussed the various elements of our upcoming trailer, these elements included the story and the name. It is vital to do this, even if the initial plan changes through filming, because it allows for a clear idea to be delivered to the group therefore ensuring that we are all on the same page as it were. In terms of presentation, we as a group have decided to use an animation programme called "Powtoon" for the ideas as well as a wordcloud image to represent the popularity of the various names in which we will choose from.
A Powtoon is a similar programme to PowerPoint except the animation, a Powtoon allows for the ease of a PowerPoint with the high quality animation skills that ensure that this media from is fun and easy to read. The below Powtoon discusses the initial planning ideas of our trailer in which we will be creating, the elements discussed are the story, the main casting, the location, the time frame and the name of the trailer. The elements previously stated will allow for us as a group to understand what we are doing in terms of filming and editing as well as allowing us to be on the same page throughout the process.
The below wordcould expands upon the name slide within the Powtoon. As a group, we believe that it is important to have a trailer name that both appeals to the audience and fits with the trailer in question and as a result we have produced a wordcloud to show the most popular of the names suggested within the Powtoon. As a not, the most popular of the below names may not be used as the trailer title but it gives us as a group an idea of what the audience preference is.
In conclusion to the above wordcloud there are 4 potential trailer titles which are popular with the target audience, and three which are not. As a group, we agree with the target audience in terms of trailer titles which we are not overly keen upon and they are as follows, The Visitor, The Minder and Unfamiliar Residents. However, we as a group may use one of these titles depending upon where we take the trailer within the filming and editing process. The four trailer names in which are popular are as follows, 13 Cedar Road or 13 Cedar Street (whichever we as a group fits the best), The Disturbed, The Estranged and The Vigilum. Once more, we as a group may in fact decide that one of the lesser liked titles best suits the final trailer while we may in fact choose a completely different title, these are the early options in which we like at this pint within the process. As an overall conclusion, we as a group have developed a strong trailer idea within the initial planning ideas stage in which we can grow and develop throughout the process, in addition to this we have finalised many elements such as the time frame and the most likely locations in which to film from. We as a group are in a good place to begin filming certainties within the trailer ideas while finalising and confirming other elements that are not yet complete in their structure.
